about
A Christmas song I wrote in 2005.
lyrics
Last night I saw a little reindeer crying,
I asked him what was on his mind
He looked at me, as sad as sad can be,
And told me that he’s always left behind
Last night I saw a little reindeer adding
A nose on, tying it with thread
He said do you suppose it’s only just a nose
Put Rudolph at the front of Santa’s sled
[chorus]
Each year when Santa’s picking out reindeer sometime late in the fall
He’s picking Rudolph, Donner and Blitzen and some other reindeer I just don’t recall
Last night I saw a little reindeer adding
Antlers big enough for two
He said can you surmise the look in Santa’s eyes
When he sees how much his little reindeer grew
Last night I saw a little reindeer writing
Letters to children everywhere
He told them of his plight and asked them if they might
Say a little reindeer prayer
[chorus]
Last night I saw a little reindeer pulling
Santa with toys upon his sleigh
After a while I broke into a smile
My little reindeer’s finally on his way
